Through the Rocky Mountain College core curriculum (general education courses), students gain a broad understanding of the key concepts and methods of a variety of disciplines. They develop skills in leadership, written and oral communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, creative expression, and professional excellence. New students may use required core curriculum courses as a means to explore their interests or to decide on a desired major or career path. Courses taken to fulfill a core curriculum requirement may also fulfill program requirements for certain majors or minors.
Newly admitted and prospective students should contact an Admissions Counselor regarding how transfer credits, AP (advanced placement) credits, and dual-enrollment credits may apply toward core curriculum requirements. Enrolled students with questions about core curriculum requirements should contact the Office of Student Records.
