Yellow Ribbon Program for Veterans

Rocky Mountain College is proud to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program.

The Yellow Ribbon Program was established by the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This program allows colleges in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the VA to fund tuition and fee expenses for qualified veterans. The Post-9/11 GI Bill will pay up to $20,235.02 for a veteran's tuition and fees. Under the Yellow Ribbon agreement, RMC will then contribute 50 percent of the remaining tuition and required fee* expenses, and the Department of Veterans Affairs will match that amount. This agreement results in a veteran's tuition and fees being fully covered. The Department of Veterans Affairs will also pay a housing allowance of $1,146 per month and up to $1,000 for books and supplies.

You may qualify for the Yellow Ribbon Program if you:

  • Served an aggregate period of active duty after September 10, 2001, of at least 36 months;
  • Were honorably discharged from active duty for a service-connected disability and you served 30 continuous days after September 10, 2001; or
  • Dependents are eligible for Transfer of Entitlement under the Post-9/11 GI Bill based on an individual's service under the eligibility criteria listed above.

*Required fees are: academic lab fee – $65 per semester; campus technology fee – $90 per semester; ASRMC student government fee – $75 per semester; and ASRMC student publication fee – $15 per semester. Course specific fees are not considered.
